Three Questions to Ask before Choosing a Smartphone Repair Shop

Looking for a smartphone repair shop or
website is like looking for a plumber or a locksmith: you want to find one before a situation starts. If you're having problems with your smartphone and that's the only time you look for a technician, there's a good chance you will choose just to get the job done quickly. But if you do the rounds before you even need the service, you can be sure that you will make a wiser, more informed decision.

You can ask your friends, relatives or coworkers for referrals of good phone repair shops they know. You can also do an online search or check the Yellow Pages. In any case, here are the three most important questions to ask your prospective smartphone repair shop before you decide which one to choose:

1. How long have you been in business?

A repair shop that has been around for more than ten years is probably
more reliable than the one that just started the business a year ago. But of course, this is a general statement. There are also new shops that have fairly good technicians, but when it comes to total reliability, experience always nails it.

2. Do you offer a warranty on your services?

This is very important. In fact, this can be crucial. If they offer a warranty, that means they know they are doing a job so good that they are going to vouch for it. If a shop doesn't offer a warranty, it only shows that they are not confident in their own work. In such a case, why should you be?

3. How soon can you get your phone?

This another important factor you should look into, especially if you're such a busybody who keeps things like your scheduler and other tools on your phone. Of course, you also wouldn't want to be "unreachable" for a long time, so you'd like to find a shop that will give you back your phone at least within the day, unless the problem is really serious (for example, a broken LCD, in which case the technician may have to order the component from a supplier).

Of course, it's also important that the technicians and other staff and friendly and polite. You want a shop that you'll feel comfortable coming to, one that makes you feel like you're in good hands. Besides, how they treat you may just be an indication of how seriously they take their job. And if they take their job seriously, that means you'll likely get your phone back in good condition.
